Being the seasoned travelers you are you no doubt are aware your entire flight is done by a computer card.
Take-off & landing is/are handled by the pilot(s)
During the check list the computer card for Shanghai is activated. As soon as the plane is aloft instructions begin flowing thanks to the computer card.
It is at this point the pilots stretch out, zip a cocktail or two, fluff their pillows and take a snooze.
