This is Lisa. I am the only one up now, as we quickly acclimate through time zone changes. Chal forgot to mention yesterday that the pilot “casually” mentioned we would be flying through Russian airspace….hmm, don’t remember seeing that in the Delta map when I chose our tickets! We were up in Siberia and then down in Inner Mongolia before we hit Shanghai. Dylan, in particular, loves these 14 hr flights so he can become the marathon movie man” and watch multiple ones. After about 5 and much negotiation, he agreed to rest for at least two hours. Then he awoke to here’s a quick dinner (even though it is breakfast time) and the flight attendant dropping the gravy on him by accident. As she is trying to madly clean him up, he is already plugged in trying to jam in that last movie….only Dylan.
Our driver that picked us up is very nice, but doesn’t speak English. He kept saying a word over and over to us, but we couldn’t understand so Chal pulls out the translator to say “adopted; yes, the kids are adopted.” The man then smiled and kept driving. Charlie then thought he might hold up other words for the man to hear, while I yelled “probably not a good idea since we are going about 70 mph through the highways around Shanghai!”
Last night, we also saw our favorite “how many humans or things can fit in a normal scooter?” One family had 5 of them stacked on, and another man had at least 7 large cardboard boxes piled up.
The VPN is not cooperating this morn, so we’ll post pictures later today.
PIctures are coming through fine! Everyone looking great. Enjoy your time there – looks nice!
